This instructional and competitive program is designed as an introduction to track and field. Participants will be taught basic techniques in running, sprinting, relay, long jump, standing jump, shot put, discus, softball throw, and turbo jav.
Meets: There will be 2-3 meets held with other local Rec Depts. Meets are generally run on Fridays from approximately 4pm-7pm - but participants can leave when they are done their last event. We encourage participants to try as many events as they want (minimum of 3 events, no maximum). Transportation to meets is available through the Rec, if needed.
Meet Events include:
TRACK: 50 Yard Dash, 100 Yard Dash, 200 Yard Dash, 400 Yard Run, 4x100 Relay, Mile
FIELD: Long Jump, Standing Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Softball Throw, Turbo Jav
